Dr Sutherland was excellent. He was very professional and made me feel safe and relaxed. He explained everything clearly which made me feel at ease.
After the surgery he pop in to the ward to see if I was doing ok which showed he is a caring professional. He helped make the whole ordeal a bit easier.

A very nice man. Pleasant, relaxed unhurried manner. He made me feel everything would be under control and would go well, which it did. Paid attention to detail and my concerns. He made a point of visiting ward after procedure.
It is just possible he might come across as too laid back to those who prefer a more formal approach eg elderly or other cultures, but perhaps he adjusts his manner accordingly as I didn't see him with anyone else!

Dr Rob understood my requirements for Anaesthetics last Tuesday the 25th of November 2014, he made my procedure comfortable and safe with his full support and follow up on my condition.
Generally I would commend the service and Support throughout the Western General Hospital.

Recently had a disc removed from my lower back, Dr Sutherland was the pain and sleep expert.
Very calming, informative and professional with a great sense of humour.
And on the plus side reminded me of a character out of Pirates of the carrabean.

I underwent transsphenoidal drainage of craniopharyngioma cyst on 23rd of September 2014 and was really nervous about surgery. Dr Sutherland had very good bedside manner and clearly explained what would happen and also had good sense of humour which I liked.
